As part of Fiestas in San Miguel, local artisans have created Mojigangas that are giant paper maché puppets that are part of every parade. The Expats of San Miguel are the inspiration for these Mojigangas.
No imagination is required to create one. They are real life representations of life as it occurs in San Miguel. The only problem with making a Mojiganga is that Expats recognizing their friends run up to them and start conversations and then are stunned to find out their friends now speak Spanish and in fact will only speak Spanish when in costume.
