Carl Jung uses the concept of the Shadow to describe all those unknown and unexperienced dark parts of ourselves.  A wonderful metaphor for the shadow is a large bag that we tow behind ourselves containing our Shadow.  It slows us down as we drag all those unknown and unliked parts of ourself through life.

As always in San Miguel, people often don’t quite understand the whole concept.

This gang only heard the big bag part of the metaphor.

The only shadow they know is from the song  Me and My Shadow.

So another gang was born from a misconception.

Now they can justify their big bags and joke, when the sun isn’t out, that their shadow is in the bag.

Now a new gang can walk through the streets carrying a bag of full of puppies or cereal or Talavera Anything and have an explanation of what is in the Bag.
